Jeremy Strong

September 11, 2008

How KRAZY are you?

I’ve been devoting a lot of my time recently to thinking about  JAM.

It’s all because of Jeremy Strong. Jeremy loves jam. One of his main jobs when he was a whippersnapper was putting the jam into jam doughnuts at a bakery – three THOUSAND, every shift! I think that’s a pretty noble profession (though I’m glad he became a writer; I LOVE his books and chuckle away to myself whenever I think of Streaker or the Cosmic Pyjamas).

Last week, I needed a new challenge for the Jeremy Strong Krazy Klub. Every month we ask you to do something KRAZY and send in a picture of the results, be it back garden Olympics or making your own hilarious recipes.

It came to me suddenly, like a bucket of jam to the face.

Can YOU eat a jam doughnut without licking your lips?!

The rest of the office scoffed, said it would be easy.

Alright, I said. Scoff all you like, I said! Literally! Because . . .

It’s time for JAMAGEDDON.

It was crazy (or should I say Krazy); Puffins and Penguins came from all around to stuff their faces with sugary, jammy goodness. Many failed, many licked their lips without even realising they were doing it – but out of the resulting sticky mess came champions:

Sarah, for covering her face in jam seemingly on purpose.Best1

Best6Eoghan, for putting the doughnut in his mouth whole (cheat!).

Daisy, for commitment to the cause in the face of clear discomfort.

And Ben, for being the only Penguin to actually get jam all down his shirt. What were you doing, man? (Unfortunately there is no photographic evidence of the jammination, but it was JAMMY.)

We were all thoroughly tested by the jam challenge – but can you do any better? Join the Krazy Klub at jeremystrong.co.uk and send us your pictures to win a signed certificate from Jeremy, and the respect of all your friends. Pump up the jam!
