An Author's Homework

Hi! Welcome back!

Saturday’s my usual blogging and website updating day. (It’s sort of like homework, but more fun.)

Seventh_tideWhat I should be doing right now - this very minute - is figuring out what bits and bobs to put on the not-yet-created Seventh Tide page (that’s the page on my website, not the one on the Puffin website, which is up and running, as you can see). What I usually do is say something about the story – like the blurb on the back cover, that sort of thing – and choose an extract, and then pick out some weird and unlikely facts about the book to put in the “Did you know …?” section. Oh, and say who the artist is who did the cover and illustrations.

Oooo, what wouldn’t I give to be an artist! They are so cool. The artist who did the illustrations for The Seventh Tide is Dominic Harman – see, they even have cool names! But I think I’m more likely to hit 6 feet tall (okay, it’s an ambition of mine – not all ambitions are sensible) by next week than I am ever to become an artist.

Never mind. Time to stop chatting to you, and get on with page making!

Cheers for now, Joan.

P.S.  Come back soon and see if I’ve done my homework – or, indeed, if I’ve got any taller . . .
