If like me, you are COMPLETEY addicted to Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series, you will have discovered the gods are alive and kicking in the twenty-first century and followed Percy through a breath-taking world of foul-smelling minotaurs, fire-breathing monsters, galloping centaurs and a whole array ungodly gods.
And also like me, if you have been counting down the days until the new Percy Jackson movie is unveiled, count no more. Because THE FILM IS HERE FOLKS, RELEASING IN CINEMAS TODAY!
There are a lot of very excited Puffins here, hopping about with popcorn at the ready. Because not only is the film actually, really, properly here – but we think you’re going to love it. It’s got an all-star cast and is jam-packed with adventure, monsters and serious battle-action.
See for yourself at www.percyjacksonthemovie.com. Logan Lehrman is the chap playing Percy and he is brilliant. He also looks just like Percy, in a spooky sort of way. And then you’ve got SEAN BEAN as Zeus, UMA THURMAN as Medusa, PIERCE BROSNAN as Chiron and STEVE COOGAN as Hades.
Puffin spies have learnt that it was Pierce Brosnan’s son who told him he had to play Chiron – Pierce says "My son Dylan had read all the books, he’s a great reader, he’s read all the Harry Potters and the Percy Jackson books so he said “Dad you gotta do it”.’
As you can probably tell from the excessive use of capital letters in this blog, Puffin is thrilled to see Percy Jackson on the big screen. To celebrate we’ve put together some exclusive film publishing.
And if like me, after seeing the film, and re-reading all of the Percy Jackson books and then wishing and hoping and wondering what Rick Riordan might write next . . .
